1.1.1 Initiative Detail
Rosderra Irish Meats is a large consumer of process water. Daily water usage across all processing sites is approximately 1600 m³ per day.
We have achieved reductions in consumption by implementing best practice across all sites, we establishing daily water consumption quotas for both production and wash-down.
We fitted efficient nozzles on all our high pressure hoses, installed pressure regulators at PPE wash stations and fitted low water consumption nozzles in carcass wash and lairage areas.
We are currently conducting a feasibility study on replacing hot water sterilization with cold water chemical technology.
